Summary of the Nordic board meeting December 2016
Participants: Bjoern-Roar Eriksen (Norway), Malin Nystroem (Sweden), Harri Hyppanen (Finland), Rune Riishoej (Denmark)
Purpose of the meeting
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a future connection point and network between the boards and members in the Nordic countries sharing common interests.
Agenda
- KLM-I
- Nordic Event
- Future Nordic cooperation
- Miscellaneous
1: KLM-I
The German club is working on changing the FCI standards to include as well versatile hunting abilities in the FCI standard. All agreed that we should respect the original purpose of the Kleiner Münsterländer that it is a versatile hunting dog, but that the definition “versatility” can be very country specific.
RR: Based on this year annual general meeting where very few participants from the member clubs participated, it was highlighted that it was important that “Nordic voice” was represented. MN: Sweden would like to join, but would need an invitation. HH – Finland does not have the financial possibilities to join on yearly basis and informed the board of KLM-I in 2015 of a bi-yearly participation. BE: Norway was not able to join in 2016, but will join in future decision.
Common agreement between the Nordic countries in sending a proposal to KLM-I regarding the location of the annual general meeting, which for cost reasons should be kept at central location to reduce travelling cost for member countries. RR will send a letter proposal to the participants in the meeting.
Regulations have been received from the German club regarding breeding. In the future all correspondence regarding breeding between Germany and a member club outside Germany, must DANSK MÜNSTERLÄNDER KLUB send a request by post instead of emails. All agreed that in these days digital material should be accepted. It is cheaper, faster and more convenient way to send the required documents. Quality of the documents should not be the reason for using paper documents. It is a lot of documents if all test and show certificates should be sent to Germany. If a dog is approved to according to national breeding rules then these things should be fine and checked by the national organization. Could then the national certificate that a dog is approved to the national breeding register be enough? Nordic countries will phrase a letter opening the dialogue. BE has the task to send a proposal.
2: Nordic Event
Proposal from RR to arrange a Nordic Event that could bring the clubs and members closer to each other. All Agreed to a Nordic Event and it was decided that Sweden is in the middle of the Nordic countries and therefore would have the honor of taking the lead for an event in 2017. The event could consist of: Dog shows, retrieving tests, IMP test, field test etc. – lead country to decide. Progress and content should be discussed in the next meeting. Denmark volunteered for having the event in 2018 due the 50 year anniversary.
3: Future Nordic cooperation
All agreed that this was the initial and a strong first time meeting and that the meetings should be continued. Decision was to have quarterly meetings. RR to invite.
4: Miscellaneous
Breed was discussed. All agreed that we should have a closer cooperation regarding breed. Not many litters in Norway and Finland compared to the demand. Therefore it was decided that each of the clubs should link to the page of breed on the national homepage for the Nordic countries as well as putting in a country specific contact person, whom is able to provide the necessary guidance.
